From the start, Oscar Piastri took the lead and seemed poised for a flawless performance. Meanwhile, Red Bull was beginning to lose pace: the team had opted for a smaller rear wing to secure pole position on Saturday, but that approach cost them race performance. McLaren, meanwhile, opted for a more powerful rear wing, giving them dominant pace throughout the race.

The changing conditions rain, sun, and an unpredictable track turned the race into a game of strategy. Choosing the right tire at the right time was key, and teams like Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bull failed in that regard, losing any chance of fighting for the podium.
Five drivers failed to finish the race, all of them rookies. The only rookie to take the checkered flag was Ollie Bearman, who also completed his first home race. In the midfield, the performances of Pierre Gasly, who managed to take his Alpine into the top 10 despite the team's numerous issues, and Lance Stroll, who also had a solid race, stood out.

But without a doubt, the big surprise was Nico Hülkenberg, who took his modest Sauber to third place on the podium, beating Mercedes, Ferrari, and Verstappen himself. A result that not only marks a personal milestone for the German driver, but also a shining moment for a struggling team.
At McLaren, despite taking victory by a commanding 36 seconds over third place, it wasn't a Sunday without mistakes. Norris's first stop was slow, allowing Verstappen to temporarily overtake him. However, the Briton remained calm, executed his race flawlessly and with great pace, and was ultimately rewarded with his first win on British soil.
Piastri, who was leading after the final restart, experienced a critical moment: he braked abruptly, going from 218 km/h to 52 km/h in less than two seconds, applying a brake pressure of 59.2 psi. Verstappen was barely able to avoid the crash. The maneuver was deemed erratic and dangerous, earning the Australian a 10-second penalty and costing him the victory.

With these results, Lando Norris has closed the gap in the championship and is just eight points behind his teammate Oscar Piastri, in an internal fight that promises to be very promising for the remainder of the season.
